The young photographer Lothar Ponhold terminated his artistic shade existence, and opened his first exhibitions. "Photography is for me an expression of the light, thus I see photography as a kind a painting with the light."
Lothar Ponhold brings up for discussion here the influence of the light on photography and area. Because without light - no area - no picture... no self picture - no communication. He understands to use light as causal tool of photographing. To create area by evenly using this light - area for representation, self-manifestation and communication. Light produces area, perceptible area, sizes, it disappear and it is distorted, aspects diagonally, changed and abstrusely, conditions curves. Area as a means for the purpose of a representation, a self-manifestation, in which one finds liberty to own presentation forms. It is about transmitting light as a purposes of the rendering facade, a possible communication form between photographer and model and with himself.
